Refund and cancellation policy

This policy applies to educational lessons offered by Distributed Io: Index Chart Mentoring, Structure Workshops, Chart Review Clinics, and Weekend Index Intensives. We do not sell physical goods or software subscriptions.

Eligibility overview

Refund eligibility depends on lesson type, notice period, and whether teaching has begun. Australian Consumer Law rights that cannot be excluded still apply.

Mentoring and clinics (one-to-one)

• Full refund if you cancel at least 72 hours before the scheduled start, or if we cancel and cannot offer a suitable alternative time.
• Partial refund (50% of session fee) if you cancel between 72 and 24 hours before start.
• No refund for cancellations inside 24 hours, no-shows, or sessions where teaching has already started.
• Rescheduling once per booking is free when requested at least 48 hours ahead; later changes may forfeit the fee or require a rebooking charge stated in your confirmation email.

Workshops and Weekend Intensives (group)

• Deposit: typically 30% of the seat fee to hold a place. Deposits become non-refundable within 14 days of the event date.
• Balance: due seven days before the event unless otherwise stated.
• Full refund of amounts paid if we cancel the event and you decline a transfer to a later date.
• Partial refund if you withdraw more than 14 days before the event: fee minus an administrative amount of A$40 or the non-refundable deposit, whichever is disclosed at booking.
• No refund for withdrawals inside 14 days, no-shows, or departure after the workshop has begun.
• Transfer of a seat to another named participant is allowed up to 48 hours before start with written notice.

Work already started

Once a mentoring or clinic hour has begun, or a workshop session has opened, fees for that lesson are non-refundable. Materials already printed or custom chart packs prepared for an intensive after the preparation deadline (usually seven days prior) are non-refundable even if you later withdraw, though unused seat balances may still follow the notice rules above.

Purchased materials

Take-home worksheets included in a fee are part of the lesson. Separate printed historical chart packs ordered as an add-on are non-refundable once dispatched or handed over.

Refund process and timing

Email info@distributed-io.digital with your name, lesson type, booking date, and reason. We confirm eligibility within five business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within ten business days of approval. Bank processing times may add several days.

Method

Refunds are issued in Australian dollars to the card or account used for payment. We do not refund in trading credits or unrelated services unless you expressly agree to a transfer.

Exceptions

If illness or bereavement prevents attendance, contact us as soon as practical. We may offer a transfer or credit at our discretion even when a strict reading of the notice periods would deny a refund. Documented consumer guarantee failures will be remedied as required by law.
