About Distributed Io

A Queensland practice devoted to technical analysis training — teaching index traders to read charts with patience and clearer structure.

Calm study desk with papers and soft natural light

Why we exist

Index charts reward traders who can wait. Too many desks fill with indicators before the bars themselves are understood. Distributed Io was formed in Stretton to teach technical analysis as a craft of reading — swings, ranges, failed breaks, and the few levels that actually mattered in the prior session.

We work with people who already watch equity indices and want their annotations to match what price respects, not what a tip sheet suggested overnight.

Origin

The practice began as informal chart reviews among traders based around southern Brisbane. Demand for structured teaching — not chat-room commentary — led to formal mentoring hours and small workshops. The studio address remains 87 Savages Road, Stretton, Queensland, with video sessions for clients elsewhere in Australia and abroad.

How we teach

Sessions start bare: candles and volume context before overlays. Instructors mark aloud, invite disagreement, and insist on written invalidation. We favour fewer lines drawn with conviction over dense charts that look busy and trade poorly.

Values in the room

  • Clarity over novelty — classic structure vocabulary before exotic pattern names.
  • Responsibility — education only; clients decide their own risk.
  • Pace — enough silence to notice when a level fails.
  • Local honesty — examples drawn from ASX sessions as often as from overseas indices.

Relationship with clients

Many traders return for quarterly clinics after an initial mentoring block. Others attend one Structure Workshop and continue alone with the checklist. Both paths are welcome. We do not lock anyone into retainers or product upsells.
